Synchronize Your Agile Planning

Add to calendar

Even though agile discourages planning beyond what can be reasonably predicted, the business still needs to know when and how to connect product development with marketing, sales, and support. Richard Khor shows how the Three Pillars of Scrum (transparency, inspection, and adaption), coupled with two levels of planning, can produce a one-year roadmap and a quarterly plan that feed into sprint planning. Richard shows how to build a rolling plan that—just as Scrum uses a cadence—stands up to the inevitable project change. To forecast work in the project plans, he uses the same technique—a moving cone of uncertainty—that weather experts use to forecast the path of hurricanes. Richard reveals how the connection between the roadmap and the quarterly plan also can be used by other departments to help coordinate their activities with product release.
